Congratulations Barack Obama. Here’s to the first African American nominee for the office of the President of the United States of America. Let your voice inspire many and the changes you bring sweep the dust of copulate corruption out of the country. When you win the election, I hope you do not forget the chorus of families broken, sung as if from Billy Holiday’s own mouth, by the war in Iraq. I hope you remember the people, praying for salvation, suffering in the flooded ruins of New Orleans. Bring back art and music to our children who have been studying to be standardized and marginalized for years. Never forget the power of song. Music has inspired us, music inspires us, and music will inspire us. You enchant with your words, and I want to believe. Lead us to the new world.
