A bass guitar Kurt Cobain purchased at Sears as a teen for roughly $200 sold at a Christie's auction in New York for $43,750 on Aug 4th, 2009. Included with the bass was a picture of a young Cobain playing it and a letter of authenticity from from his aunt Mari Earl.
