Last week a thread was quickly deleted at The Gear Page which stated Ed Roman had passed away leading to speculation on many guitar forums whether it was a hoax. Today on the Ed Roman site, the rumor was confirmed. A more formal announcement from daughter Lindsey Star Roman will be forthcoming.
Perhaps equally as famous for his Quicksilver guitars as his controversial and often polarizing criticisms of other guitar builders, Roman ran Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas, Nevada which famously shut down their showroom to casual shoppers only open "by appointment to pro musicians, collectors, serious & previous customers".
