So, in six days I'm closing on a nice little two-bedroom house with high ceilings, & a solid basement with good clearances. I'm trying not to panic (first house I've bought since my divorce 19 years ago), but it calms me to think about how I'm gonna do one room as a guitar cave. Part of the panic is figuring out how I'm gonna pack up all my varied stuff for a move in June, so I'm passing up some bargains. The upside of the sucky economy is that people are clearing out their closets of great offbeat gear, & I've got a little "excess income" to bid seriously on 'em. Still, some patience is called for until I get the new digs. But CDs don't take much space... Here's the most recent musical acquisitions, if only to show how scattered my listening habits are. I might add commentaries & justifications later, but they are all dominated by some incredible guitar work, so check 'em out. Blue Oyster Cult, Secret TreatiesBloodrock, Bloodrock (first) Static-X, Wisconsin Death TripBill Nelson, LuminousKnorkator, The Schlechtst Of (though no "Buchstabe"!!) Coal Chamber, s/t Helmet, Unsung: The Best OfThe Human League, Original Remixes & RaritiesBefore the Internet, this stack would've taken me a few years & upwards of $200 to accumulate -- most showed up from Amazon.com for $2.99 shipping + $1-$3. | All a writer really needs is a blank page and a bad attitude.

I always liked B.O.Cult. Nowadays I listen to lots of blues. I really dig Joe Bonamassa. Here's one of my fav. blues guitar solos. Joe B. and Beth Hart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=351oZEdpTIcT

Bill Nelson is a good player, did he ever get a different processor than the old Line 6 pod . His sound on the few tunes I heard was the old Line 6 sound not good. The new Line 6 stuff like the HD Pod sounds way different. So much so I can't call myself a Line 6 hater anymore.
Terry that video worked for me, great stuff, thanks.

I have mostly favored acoustic guitar but like the electric as well. I like the blues but have not focused on it for a while. I do like the red stripes and jack white. Billy Bragg in the peel sessions. Wilco in Kicking television. Anything Dylan ,Springsteen and the like. I have only recently heard a little from Joe Bonamassa. Where did he come from (big_teee)? I do not know Bill Nelson at all , sorry (Steve) welcome to world of home ownership (Tony Raven) and all of it's ups and downs. | "actions speak louder than words it's not what was said but what was heard"

We quiz him (or drag him into one of our gear-centric discussions) every once in a while. He loves the potential of the HD 500, has tried similar units from other companies, & owns a newer Pod2, but he keeps returning to the older Pod as his primary tone-shaper. Here's a thread from last year:
When coaxed to try out the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra, he gave one a thorough testing, & had many thoughts: [url]http://www.billnelson.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15118">http://www.billnelson.com/forum...opic.php?f=1&t=15118 Nelson recognizes his own obsessive tendencies, & (like me) I think he chooses to give up a little programming & audio depth in favor of some immediacy, else he could probably spend years just fine-tuning a single composition. I mean, the guy does put out three to six complete albums per year (including package design & art). Anyway, back to the thread for a moment. Still awaiting: Trio, Szene Stars (yes, as in "Da Da Da") Steeleye Span, The Lark in the Morning (the early albums!) | All a writer really needs is a blank page and a bad attitude.

Joe Bonamassa is young(35), but he has really been making his mark the last several years. He plays with everybody. He has developed his own distinct tone. http://artistwiki.com/joe-bonamassa Terry

Man, my listening habits are all over the place, right now actually quite light on guitar. Here's what's been in fairly heavy rotation the last few weeks: Esperanza Spalding - Radio Music Society Stanley Clarke - The Stanley Clarke Band Hiromi - Voice Cee-lo Green - Closet Freak: The Best of Cee-Lo Green the Soul Machine The Yellowjackets - Timeline Edited by user Monday, May 14, 2012 8:11:08 AM(UTC)

In the car I listen to my Ipod or a new radio station in the area that plays modern "rock/pop" music. I'm finding I like a lot of the new stuff. On my IPod I have a lot of different stuff, Peter Gabriel, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, new and old, Adele. I have had my sons recommend some music and some I like and some I don't. Both my sons and Grandson love Muse and Radio Head but those are 2 bands I'm real crazy about.
I like to call the music I listen to as thinking music. But some of the new acts I like are Adele, Mumford & Sons, Shinedown, Paramore, and Kings of Leon. I still love Journey and Toto and the Beatles, Clapton and Sting and Robert Cray. My workout playlist has a lot of different bands on it. | Your wish is at my command www.thissideup.us |

+1 to Esperanza Spaulding, Adele, & Joe Bonamossa!
I spend some time on Pandora with Jim Hall, Wes Montgomery, Joe Beck and other interesting jazz guitarists . . . (Bill Frizzell). . . but I prefer streaming WBGO out of New Jersey-- they got DJ's who know some cool stuff & cool people!
Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, George Benson, Bobby Broom . . . a little roots blues now 'n then . . .
And then there's always classical . . . lots of symphonies.
Oh, and I must admit that I recently watched a You-tube video of John 5 --- just curious : )
