Ted Nugent Makes Headlines for Threat Against Obama

Wednesday, April 18, 2012| by Will Chen

At a recent NRA public appearance, wildly outspoken ultra conservative guitarist Ted Nugent issued a threat against President Obama warning that "If Barrack Obama becomes President...again, I will be dead or in jail...". He further claimed Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton were criminals inciting the crowd to "ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November". The speech's strong language was intended to encourage support for Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. Yahoo News is reporting that Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary stated: "We are aware of the incident and we are conducting appropriate follow-up." Romney has not directly addressed the remarks, but Andrea Saul, a Romney spokeswoman stated "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from, Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil."

Uncle Ted didn't threaten Obama! The point is that if Obama stays in office, he will do his best to take away our right to protect ourselves and make firearm ownership illegal. That will make people (like Ted Nugent) have to fight to keep their guns or go to prison for having them.

Disagree, that language is extremely vitriolic and stops just short of a direct threat to the president's life, which is against the law. What's happening here is he's playing on the paranoia of a select group of people who are uneducated to the powers of the President. The President can not enact a law without it being approved by Congress, and then it must pass the scrutiny of the Court. That is unless we're talking about a constitutional amendment which then must be affirmed by three fourths of the states. Ted's a total nutbag f he thinks any President would be able to turn back the second amendment.

Thanks for the rudimentary education in constitutional law... Ted understands what has to happen better than most. You insult his intelligence if you think he doesn't. He clearly illustrated (somewhat crudely) how the present administration treats the constitution. He may have insulted some of the morons in the Obama administration, but he did not threaten anyone. I'd be curious to know who is this paranoid and uneducated group of people you speak of. The NRA? Gun owners in general? If you believe that (and I said "if"), then you must be one of the liberal sheeple who put the real "nutbag" in the whitehouse. When you get some time, check out Obama's record regarding the 2nd Amendment and you will see what Ted is talking about. Whether you accept it or not is up to you.

Clearly the group I'm talking about is folks like yourself who appear more afraid of loosing their guns than any other issues such as the economy, education, affordable healthcare, foreign policy, etc. I've looked at Obama'a (non) record on the 2nd amendment, Google it and you get a bunch of smoke from conspiracy theorists. This is nothing more than fear mongering in order to make headlines.

What that is is firearms manufacuters making a bunch of money selling fear to the paranoid through the NRA!

They call it the "FREE" market.
